Boobacca was up at the Ankeny GameStop for the midnight release of this highly anticipated expansion for World of Warcraft.
He was pleasantly surprised, to say the very least, at the turnout for this event. He estimates it was about 50% higher than even the crowds for Grand Theft Auto IV or Gears of War 2.
I've posted before about this phenomenon in the PC section. It's amazing the devoted following this game has. We jokingly call it World of WarCrack. I know my nephews and my son have to get their "fix" almost daily. My middle nephew even put off playing Gears of War 2 when we got it the Tuesday before its Friday release so he could log in about four hours more on WoW. Meanwhile, his little brother was about 40% through the Gears 2 campaign by then!
Early reports are that your machine is required to have Service Pack 3 installed. If you don't have your XP machine patched yet, you'll have to slog through that MS Update before you can install and play this.
Hopefully I'll have impressions to post once I get the game installed later in the morning.
