  1. Silent Bob Belated Birthday

    The GoG nearly shares my birthday. I would have posted this yesterday, but Ankeny got hit with the mother of storms that knocked out power to 3/4 of the city.

    I was happily playing Guitar Hero with my nephew when the first blackout happened. Two minutes later, the lights were back on, and we were re-loading our game.

    Then ZAP! Another outage, followed by a red ring of death on the XBox 360 we were playing on. Sad

    Power wasn't restored in our neighborhood until almost 3:00 am. So I spent nine hours in the dark on my birthday with a single candle burning.

    It was a pretty good day before that though. My mom made a huge lasagna dinner with garlic bread, cheese bread and salad. I even got my favorite brownies (with nuts, no frosting). Wink

    The only thing I asked for was that my son and nephews play as a band in GH:World Tour. We only played about half a dozen songs, but we did manage to knock out a couple band achievements like Tool of Destruction and Heavy Metall...

    I've had better birthdays, but it was still memorable. Our family is pretty close compared to most, so I certainly enjoyed my time with them.

    Happy B-Day, and mine's coming up. Bummer of a way to spend it though, least you had some of the day for some fun.
