  1. Silent Bob A tale of pure pwnage

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Jul 20 2008

We had one of our regulars bring up four buddies from out of town last Saturday to the game center to play a little Call of Duty 4. After getting everybody situated, my son Brandon (age 9) asked them if they'd mind if he joined their game.

They were all naturally skeptical. He picked one kid at random and said, "Me and you against the others?" The teenager said, "But that's only 2 against 4. Why don't we split up evenly?" Brandon simply said, "It'll be funner this way."

The guy shrugged his shoulders and accepted. The others in the group were snickering to themselves at their other buddy's "misfortune" being paired up with a little kid.

Brandon asked if it was okay to change winning score for Deathmatch to 1000 instead of 750 so the game could last a little longer. They were all cool with it, so the match got under way.

I kept hearing shouts of, "What?!" and "NO WAY!" coming from the team that had four players. Meanwhile, Brandon was laughing hysterically, picking these guys off like they were standing still.

First match: Brandon's team of 2 - 1000 points, other team of 4 - 160 points. Yes, they managed only 16 kills, and 12 of those were the other guy on Brandon's team. Brandon managed 83 kills (or 830 points) out of the 1000 they scored.

Having been humiliated by a "kid," they all asked for a rematch but wanted Brandon to take on all five of them. He quickly agreed, and they squared off again.

    Brandon - 1000, team of 5 - 260. OUCH!

By this time, these guys were also laughing. Brandon was having so much fun too.

In desperation, they said, "Wanna go again?" Of course Brandon said yes. But they had a challenge for him this time around - "Only pistols and knives for you, we get to use any weapon."

    Ummm..OK!

Things were a little closer because of the disparity in weaponry this time around: Brandon - 1000, other team 560.

The guys all asked Brandon if he wanted a treat, so he asked for his usual Mountain Dew and Doritos. Their treat. Really cool of them.

After that, they sat down to some Halo 3...

    ...and the pwnage continued.

Fun night for all. They can't wait to come back.

Add my Carter to his team, and they're a ball to watch! The older kids think they're rock stars when they come up to play because they're here so much.

Unfortunately, Brandon is with his mommy during the week. I only have him Friday-Sunday each week. Sad

    Divorce sucks.
