  1. Cy4n Watch Out For: Retro Game Challenge

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Feb 15 2009

(Remember, this isn't a review, but simply a series of thoughts on the game. My reviews are titled "ABT," or "A Blue Thought.")

When I'm surfing the forums, I always check the classic forum first to make sure I'm not missing out on something that would seriously grab my attention. So when I heard about the Retro Game Challenge for the DS, I knew I had to give it a shot.

So I've been able to fool around with it a bit, and it reminds me of one big definition of "hardcore" in the gaming realm. This game is completely classic, taking games that are somewhat obvious in style (Galaga and Ninja JaJaMaru-kun to name a few), and they really do give the impression of traditional FamiCom/NES games. And they're pretty fun... although they do tend to end early. But certainly the feel is there, and completely fit what they're trying to represent.

At this point, I'm not into the game deep enough to say whether or not I'll really be picking up much after I "beat" it, but as for right now, it'll occupy my attention in-between times I'm working on my "official" review. Smile
