  1. BEN Even Barack Obama Love Video Games!

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Oct 17 2008

So it's a bit late, but have you heard that the presidential candidate, Barak Obama, has recent been advertising in a few online video game?!

I think it's a great move and although he seems to already have won the election, I think this is another big step in the direction of advertising within video games.

I believe he is currently running ads on Madden 09 and Paradise Burnout, but there may be more of them. I haven't played Madden since getting back from MLG Dallas, so I haven't seen them myself.

Either way and which ever the advertisements are in, I think this a great move. I have to wonder the cost for something like this!?

He's been the first presidential candidate to really embrace multimedia and use it to his advantage. The internet in general has been a powerful tool in his campaign, and one that McCain just never fully realized to its potential.

At 47, he can hardly be considered young, but he has a young person's zeal and tech savvy. The embracing of technology will set this apart or mark a milestone in American politics. I'm sure it's one they'll talk about in classrooms, regardless of outcome, for years to come.

Amazing. It was only a matter of time until politicians figured out how to harness the power of the video game community.
