  1. BEN Video Game Review - Assassin's Creed

Player Chronicle -- Posted on May 11 2009

It's almost like I'm suppose to do the same range of activities throughout the entire game...just mix up the location and who these actions are geared towards Shocked

I'm not saying this is a bad game, because I've been enjoying it, but I can see how people think it's a slow moving story with a lot of repetitive activity too. With the Assassin's Creed 2 coming out soon, I'm glad I had the chance to play the original. Now I won't feel pressured to buy the second one, lol.

I was a huge fan of the recent Prince of Persia series on the Xbox and then on the 360, so to wait this long to play Assassin's Creed was odd, but I'm glad I waited and only paid $14.99 for this game.

I like the idea of being an assassin in what seemed to be historically accurate "bible times", but riding my horse and sneaking around only so much before I take on the guards (which is almost every time) just gets a little bit old after awhile. I also think the AI of always having X amount of guards to fight before you are somehow hidden again is lazy design.

I feel like I'm giving this game a poor review, especially when I haven't played through the entire game, but unfortunately, at this rate I may not have time to see the credits for Assassin's Creed.

    5.5/10

I can understand some of the points you are making here. However, how is this game any more repeptitive than most other games ever made? What do you do in Call of Duty, Gears of War, or Halo? You shoot people over and over again in the same way. Is that not repetetive? In the same way, what do you do in, say, a platformer? You move, run, jump, and/or shoot over and over again. The only difference is the levels. It's the same for Assassin's creed. When you actually think about it, Assassin's creed provides more different things for you to do than most games do on the market nowadays. Take that into consideration...

Yes the side activities are repeditive, but at the same time everything else (imo) were pretty well made. I'd give it a 7 or so...The actual assassinations were amazing cool!
