  1. BEN PS3 For Christmas???

    I'm at a Christmas crossroads folks. On one hand, having a PS3 and all of it's BluRay glory will be nice, but I know I'll likely only play my Xbox 360 and would hesitate trying to invest in a new PS3 game library?!

    I'm debating on whether I should ask/receive this little monster and would love to hear some thoughts from both owners and haters, haha. I know this is kind of a selfish topic, with the holidays being all about giving, but it's a video gaming topic and I want to hear some thoughts from the GoG jury!

    A few quick questions I have are, can any new model of the PS3 play PS2 games and with the BluRay player in place, does the PS3 also play normal DVDs? Also, does Best Buy still have the deal where you get Little Big Planet with your purchase of a new PS3? Lastly, what harddrive size should I be shooting for, or is the new PS3 Slim all the same size?

    I think this is a go!

    With the DVD/BluRay combination, I think we'll use this console in the main living room and allow the gaming to be somewhat of an afterthought, lol. The Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii will continue to rule the gaming room though.

    With that being said, I plan to ask for Little Big Planet, Killzone 2, and a few BluRay movies along side of this Christmas Miracle Laughing

    I would say yes, get the ps3 if you can. I have both systems and I can honestly say I play the ps3 more. Here is why, and I will answer some of your questions while I'm at it. First and foremost the ps3 does play both blue ray and dvd and you will use this alot. I have a hi def tv so I am watching blueray movies all the time. I also like how the ps3 network is free.... but that's another subject. Moving on, you can't play old ps2 or ps1 games on the newer model, Sad
    but with games such as unchartered 2 and god of war 3 on or coming out for the system you won't miss them. So I hope this helps you and that Santa has a ps3 in his bag for you,lol.

    no not all PS3 hard drives can play PS2 games 60GB hard drives are the best ones to get, backwards compatibility with PS1 and 2
