  1. BEN An Unwritten Code

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Apr 23 2010

So last night, as it happens quite often it seems, I was introduced to a new friend and my current friend preluded my introduction with something about gaming and this community.

Naturally I'm always fine with this, because of an unwritten code between fellow gamers.

I don't know if it happens to you too, but when I meet new people and they are heavy into the gaming scene, we immediately hit it off and enjoy talking about so many things. Whether it be about specific video games or even things outside of gaming, there's something about being a "gamer" that I truly enjoy.

This fellow, who I'm sure we'll see around here soon, had even heard of GatheringofGamers.com and knew "that BEN guy", haha, so that was cool too. I made sure he tried my Ciroc vodka and he said he'll be rocking the username TheShank420 when he comes around here, haha. I told him rock on.

Anyways, I suppose I just wanted to share my enjoyment of this unwritten code of being a gamer. Whether you're at work, the gym, a family gathering, or drinking at the Lime Lounge...gamers are everywhere, so don't be afraid to share your interests/stories and be sure to bring them HERE.

I challenge you to write out this "unwritten" code and make it...well...written Laughing

Anyway, I know exactly what you're talking about. Especially when the big computer convention is in Vegas in January. These two guys and myself talked for probably about 30 minutes one night. What kicked it off was I asked the guy about his shirt (World of Warcraft) then asked if he played anything else. He started naming all these games and asked me if I'm a gamer. I just showed him my Gears hat and that did it. Very Happy

Pretty much I get all excited when I run into another gamer. They are far a few between around these parts.
