1. Video Game Review - CoD: Black Ops

   So I know everyone is playing this game and a video game review may seem like obvious information, but it's Sunday and I just got done playing last night and quite a bit this morning, so let me share my initial thoughts.
   
   Now you should be used to my limited-scoped opinion, because as always, I basically opened the game and went straight to Multiplayer. I'm yet to start the campaign or the new Zombies, but here to share some thoughts on the Multiplayer aspect of CoD: Black Ops.
   
   First of all, the game is sweet. This week a patch was released, which took care of the match -inding hardships, which was very annoying at first. It was so bad, that I felt like I basically needed to go into all matches alone, because a party of 2 or more would get dropped or never find a game. I'm glad they fixed that quickly and I suppose it's hard to test the code for a kabillion players!
   
   I'm loving the in-game credits that allow you to purchase not only guns, but personalization elements such as gun design, attachments, player cards, and I just unlocked the ability to paint my face, haha. The role playing elements of this game keep getting more interesting, so that's neat to see that the developers aren't only focused on the FPS experience, but the character development as well.
   
   The new killstreaks are cool. I'm surprised that there's not a Nuke, as I know many (excluding me) enjoyed ending the game after 25 straight kills, but the remote control car bomb is great fun and many of the others killstreaks can really rake up some kills. I know some hate on killstreaks, but why? It's simply a reward for being awesome!
   
   I've heard mixed reviews, but I'm yet to experience the LAN environment for myself. As you heard on this week's GoGcast, I'll be headed up to Focus Fire December 11-12, so I'm eager to see them run the 4v4 Black Ops division. Once we confirm this exciting title is solid, look for that Game Division II to be announced for TIPGC 2011
   
   Anyways, Nuketown seems to be everyone's favorite map. I like the voting mechanism, which reminds me of the recent Halo lobbies. Speaking of Halo similarities, the theater seems to be in pretty good shape for the first time. I'm yet to check it out, but it's there.
   
   I've heard spawning isn't very good, but as somewhat of a neophyte compared to those who have shared this complaint, I haven't noticed it too much. I mean yes, I get spawned killed every so often, but it's not a constant problem that I'm willing to complain about, haha.
   
   Overall, Treyarch has done a masterful job in my opinion. I think it combines the best of World at War and Modern Warfare 2, while leaving out the rough edges. I'm sure the campaign will feel more like Vietnam, but jumping straight into the multiplayer experience has me feeling more MW2 than W@W so far.
   
   I'm yet to prestige and I know I'm behind many others, but this game hasn't left my Xbox 360 since I picked it up. If you're still playing any CoD game, it's time to move on. If you're still enjoying Halo Reach, be careful about playing this, because you may not go back for awhile!
   
   There's a reason Black Ops beat MW2 and is the new record holder for overall sales within the entire entertainment market. I know it seems like there's a new CoD game all the time, but why is that a bad thing if developers are going to enhance the game so much each time?!
   
   Call of Duty: Black Ops is great.
