  1. BEN Wii Fit & Super Mario 3

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Aug 08 2008

I enjoyed the Wii Fit board at E3 2008, as I was able to play Shawn White Snowboarding and the new SKATE game using this super-interactive (and very sensitive) accessory for the Nintendo Wii. I have not, however, been able to play Wii Fit yet...until last night Very Happy

While at GoG Member Rossssss's new place, I setup my Mii and we got to determining how fat I was, haha. (BTW-How do you grab your Wii from home? Can't you do it over the Internet connection?) After we got things setup, I was able to determine my body composition and set some goals for my health plan. I played a few of the mini games and thought the focus on your body balance was interested and very impressive.

I was impressed overall by the game, but can't honestly see someone losing weight by only playing. I could see how the game would motivate you a little more though your workout goals and can see how this has been such a successful element for the Wii. It's very user friendly and definitely made for gamers across the entire spectrum and even for non-gamers.

I'm sure you're thinking, why was Super Mario 3 in the title of this Chronicle? haha. While we were playing Wii Fit, we had to take a break and play this downloaded game that Rossssss had on his Wii. We skipped the original Zelda, but it was great to get back to the basics. It had been many years since I played Mario 3, but it all came back to be and even though I died an embarrassing amount of times, it was so much fun connecting back with my childhood Very Happy

Conclusion...Wii Fit is sweet and definitely innovative, while Super Mario 3 is still super fun!

I agree. For those of you young gamers, you really need to go back and play some of the old school games to truly appreciate where we are today. I was talking to Ben and we discussed how far gaming technology has advanced. It's so crazy that I can play a game as crazy as Mario Galaxy and then, a moment later, go back to Super Mario Brothers and still enjoy it. What else does that translate to in life? I love video games.
