Player Chronicle -- Posted on Sep 08 2009

This is a little bit later than I thought it would be but hey, better late than never!

So our team coach and I left that Friday for the nice five hour drive to Dallas. When we got there, we had to learn how to walk again as the ride took so much out of us. I was wore out, but it was about 11am so we checked into are rooms and we then set out to see what was all going on.

First thing I would like to make clear is that I think it is really funny how many kids walk around with Astro headphones around there neck...I'm just saying. Anyways, we met up with some of my others buddies from another team that got there the day before...Olby, brew, fenny, and holt. When we all met up, we decided to go check in and get our team's wrist bands. Funny, because I keep thinking this was going to be hard but all I did was walk up to the table tell the lady my name and she game me five wrist things, yaaaaaa! I then started to get nervous because my teammates were not there at the moment, so Olby asked me what was I going to do. I said I really did not know, so we left the event and went to go grab something to eat.

After about 5 minutes of sitting down I get a call from Roxy (my other teammate)
that she had made it with Blitz (3rd teammate) which made me instantly relieved. Now we just had to wait on BEN, haha. So they went ot their rooms and I finished up eating, before our coach and I headed back to the event.

Now its about to start and we walk into BEN, who is by the door. So we all said are hellos and we made are way to the mainstage were Sundance was about to greet everyone.

Ok, here comes the sad part. We get called out to play FTW.

I guess they were semi-pro because when went to sit down they had a couple people that knew them. Well, in my head I was like this is not good. Right when we sit down this ref comes to check us out to see if we have everything in order. Through all the huss and fuss I forgot to give BEN his wristband and the ref seemed to get a little bent out of shape about it. I mean I felt bad about not giving it to BEN right when we walked in, but this ref's tone of voice was kinda of getting to me...I mean don't you know were from the GoG, duh! haha.

We figured things out and after we got setup...we got work.

It was bad, I mean the first game was, well I'm not telling you but it was really, really bad, but we lost both games within like 10 minutes so yeah, it was pretty bad.

After that, the weekend became a big blur. Hours later I'm in this big GoG party with a very sick LAN that made me forget about the day and I was having a blast. Plus when I got to play some Halo, I got teamed up with some of the best girl gamers I have played with! I remember Team Foxy's Mafia Chick and pimp chick or something like that, but they were really cool. That night I met a lot more of the cool GoG members...it was a blast.

So the coach and I left around midnight. I was so tired and I needed some sleep. We go back to the room and I look at my phone to see that it had died. Nooooo and I could not find the charger so i just went to bed.

Next day we wake up kinda of late but I don't find anyone until the afternoon because I had to charge up the phone. Biltz later told me that since I did not have my phone on, people thought I was mad at them because we lost the way we did. Funny thing is I was not mad at all! I kinda thought that was funny and I think the GoG party had kind of taken my mind off of everything (in a good way).

Then I get good my first good news as BEN tells me we are going to have another GoG LAN...yaaaaaa...and then roxy tells me we can go play Halo 3: ODST's new Midship...yaaaaaaa! So we played the new Halo 3 map and I must say, I am very pumped for all three of those ODST maps.

Later that night we had the second GoG LAN. It went great just like the last one.

Sunday came to fast for me, as I did not want this to end, plus Carbon did not take home first so I was a little sad. But hey, the next event in Anaheim is coming up fast, so I'm really pumped. Can't wait to meet more people and play some BETTER Halo lol. Overall, I look back and I'm just amazed at how fast it went! I already miss the rocket elevators and the free Dr. Pepper...until next time, this is SweetIcecream...PEACE
