The Wii is one of those things that I never thought I'd buy. Ever. However, I have grown bored of the dull, shooter-filled 360, and have been looking for sources of fun. I've started playing Chrono Cross via the PS3, and though everything looks like a mess of pixels, it's more enjoyable than pretty much anything I've played on a current gen system. The music is fantastic, it's nice and colorful, and most importantly, it's fun. Basically, I'm hoping I can find more of the same kind of thing on the Wii.

I bought my Wii used at Gamestop for $99 today. It came with no games, so I bought a Wii points card, and have been playing a little bit of Castlevania Rebirth. It's great. As far as retail titles, I'm probably going to end up buying Muramasa: the Demon Blade, possibly Madworld, and definitely Okami.

It's just weird, seeing as how I've talked loads and loads of trash about the Wii, and now I own one. I suppose one must occasionally swallow their pride in search of creating a better experience for themselves. It's still too early to say whether or not my Wii purchase is completely justified, but having an entirely new avenue of games open to me is great.

A year ago, I would have raked you over the coals for making this purchase. Now, however, I have actually had the chance to play a handful of the titles on the Wii (not because I own one), and I can say that it is far less crappy a console than I had originally dubbed it.

However, I still have yet to burn through all the awesome games on the 360 that I would like to play. So, until then, I shall continue to enjoy my life minus the Wii.

With your love of platformers, I thought you would've had one of these long before now.

The first-party Nintendo stuff is usually really well-made and fun to play. Try to stick with that stuff if you can. You've already nailed some of the third-party stuff that's worth trying: MadWorld, Okami, and you might enjoy Metroid Prime 3 : Corruption and Zack & Wiki as well.

Not sure how much you like the Mario series, but Mario Galaxy (1 & 2) is a great game, while All-New Super Mario Bros. is my favorite game for my Wii...which really never gets plugged in until we have an event, haha.

I look forward to some new perspectives being added in the GoG Forum and maybe a few Wii-related video game reviews? Enjoy your new Nintendo Wii Wink
