  1. Im Marksman CMU Video Game Event

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Aug 17 2010

During the latest video game events presented by Jet Set Studio, BEN and I traveled from Iowa to Michigan for a neat gaming element at Central Michigan University's Leadership Safari 2010.

We hooked up with Zach Wigal, head of Gamers Outreach Foundation, and picked up eight gaming stations to go along with ours. We tetris'ed the equipment into BEN's 2007 BMW X3 and headed north to CMU to meet up with Derno.

We all met in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and started setting up the following day's event. It took around two hours to get it all setup and without air conditioning, it was hot...literally.

The next day, the 3-person JSS management team ran our 14 gaming stations very smoothly. We had around 200 players, and everyone seemed to have a great time. A big shout-out to Zach Wigal with Gamers Outreach for renting us some gaming stations - it would have been extremely hard without those.

After the event we packed up all our equipment, said our goodbyes, and headed south towards Ann Arbor and to Zach's house again. When we reached his place, we unloaded all the equipment and sat outside for a little bit. A funny highlight from this trip was watching a BA Ice cream Truck (www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1oPQK_4uA8) roll through his neighborhood, lol!

We crashed at his place overnight and gamed a little, then decided it was best to get some sleep. The next day we considered stopping in Chicago to visit The LAN Network's headquarters, but decided to cruise back to Iowa and call it quits. We had a great time all weekend and even recorded Season 4 - Episode 2 of the GoGcast in the car ride home, so look for that this week and we'll see you at the next GoG event!!!
