Perhaps it is time I start writing stuff again. Thanks for the positive feedback. Oh yeah, the Final Fantasy VII stream has begun, though it's not really a speed run anymore. I usually post something on Facebook when I start, but it doesn't look like you're on there. I can send you a text if you want to know when I'm starting, or just pop into the chat here - I'm there every day. http://www.gatheringofgamers.com/chat.php

Actually, I did just finish Two Worlds. I'll write something about that real quick. Spoiler alert: I didn't hate it. :O

I had no idea you were in KC. :/ But yeah, Legaia II has a lot in common with the first game, including the music. The battle system is actually improved as well. Instead of gaining AP through getting damaged, as well as using spirit, you gain it through your basic arts moves. Super and Hyper Arts use AP. It works really well.

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. Take it easy, and I'll let you know when that speed run will happen. I'll probably do it without my mic plugged in so people can enjoy the game without me raging at losing to Demon Gate and Carry Armor. Those guys are retarded hard when you're under-leveled.

Yeah, the first one must not have come through. Anyway, PQ2 is probably a pass. I thought the first one was alright, but it's not something I enjoyed all that much. The first 10 hours or so were great, but after that, it was just like, ugh. I've got lots on my plate at the moment too. I picked up a new elite since my first 360 konked out, so now I have ODST and Forza III to work on, plus Saints Row, Doom II, Duke Nukem 3D, and Worms 2. There is also going to be a Final Fantasy VII speed run once my streaming stuff gets here (left it at my parents before I moved which was super smart of me). So yeah, PQ2 will be put on the back burner. I'll likely grab it if it gets put on sale though.

And yeah, Silent Bob will pass my TA score, and there's not much I can do about it. The sheer number of games he has is ridiculous. It's all good though, I stopped worrying so much about that stuff, and am starting to enjoy games much more. Legaia 2 is pretty good so far, I forgot to mention I started that too. And I need to find a job or something. :/ But anyway, how've you been doing?

Peggle is getting put on the backburner for a while. I just started playing Metal Gear Solid 4, and would like to finish it before my world gets consumed by the game we know as Borderlands. Nice job on the 48/55. I'm sure the remaining seven shouldn't be too difficult for you.

As far as the stream, it's kind of random when I do it right now. It's never on Tuesday nights though, and usually not on weekends. With the podcast starting up as well, Wednesday nights will be cut somewhat short. If you want to know for sure when I'm casting, just head into the old mibbit chat and I can tell you. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday seem to be the most common days I do it though.

Only two weeks left! Are you ready to grind? Very Happy

Also, I had a ton of challenge boards that I had cleared, but I guess it doesn't count or something. That kind of ticked me off, but anyway, I'm finding it very easy to clear boards now. It's just a matter of getting motivated to do it.

And for the record, I beat the decathalon on the first try. :P You're still much better than I though. I'm just luckier, I suppose.

Hey, if you want a decent tutorial video on challenge 56, look up the user FreakServo on youtube. The vid should be on his channel page. I've also got it favorited on my page (dynafireSH). I had already beaten it before seeing the video, but it does provide a fairly details walkthrough.

I wanted to stop by and share that we've got an upcoming video game event here in Des Moines NEXT weekend (7/25 & 7/26)!

We could really use your help to help bring the fun to our first church that's hired us to help run a large gaming element. Both Saturday and Sunday evening, the event only runs from 5-9pm, so we'd have plenty of time to enjoy other things during the weekend if you'd like and this large church is allowing us to spread the GoG word too!

We could use some of your gaming equipment if you're cool with that, as we'll be running 8 gaming stations each evening. I have more details and I hope you can make it...so let me know your thoughts asap...

Glad the Genesis is working fine. How are the controllers? I tested them and thought they were fine, so hopefully they're treating you well too.

As far as Infinite Undiscovery...there's a lot of little things that annoy/frustrate me (which I have posted about in the forums), but I can't bring myself to actually hate it. It's definitely grown on me since the start of the game though, and isn't too bad. Far from great, in my opinion, but decent.

As far as achievements go, I don't know if I'll go for the full 1000. I've missed out on a few already, and don't know if I'll want to play through the game again to get them. There are a couple (Rock, Stock, and Barrel and Marathon Man) that I could go back and do fairly quickly, but others like the achievement for getting Capell to learn all the songs will require an entire new game since I missed the stupid notations you're supposed to get from Sigmund in Burgusstadt (sp?).

I'm pretty sure I'll get everything but the one for beating the Ethereal Queen on hard and infinity mode, the one for reuniting with Sigmund (damn spoilers) because I hate the odd-numbered achievements, compulsive, and the one for teaching Capell all the songs.

I tried to respond to your comment in the chronicle, but a barrage of bugs prevented that. So anyway, here was my response:

There's a fallacy in the length example you provided, since Star Ocean and Bionic Commando fall in to two very separate and distinct genres. BC is an action title, which generally can't maintain their quick pacing for very long, hence shorter length. Star Ocean is an RPG, which are generally expected to be slower-paced, deeper, and subsequently, longer.

I had meant to say in the conclusion that it is longer than most games of the action genre. In the grand scheme of things however, you are correct in saying that there are longer games out there.

I see. You should still go for it though. It feels great to actually earn that achievement. Ya know, if you guys have about 7 free hours, I could help you two with the Endless Setlist 2/Bladder of Steel achievements. I can play when you guys need a break or whatever. Just let me know if you're up for it. The offer applies to any other achievements you might want some help with as well.

The Genesis will come with all cords and 2 controllers.

I see you're going for the Enlightened Guitarist achievement. I have heard (but can't confirm) that you can get golds on a song in career and quickplay, and it'll count once for each. For example, if you FC Mississippi Queen in both career and quickplay, that counts as 2 songs towards the 20 you need.

Also, the real reason why I was poking around your profile was to tell you that I will be coming to CyberOps this weekend for the Bionic Commando release party. If you still want that Genesis, it's yours for $20. It is currently attached to a broken Sega CD, and I don't have a cover for the port on the side. So if you want the Sega CD as well, take it. Just let me know if you can meet up with me sometime on Saturday afternoon.

Nicely done! We'll have to grind this a little bit, to make sure you get yet another gold star. Smile

BTW, Cities on Flame is #31 for GHIII FC Difficulty (w/o DLC). So, I'm pretty sure you can get to 20 overall...

I *almost* picked that up at MGC, but I found Chrono Trigger which took priority over it. It'll probably get purchased at the next MGC or when I have tons of disposable income since it's kinda rare. Thanks for the suggestion, and if you have more, let me know.

I meant "casual" in the way I play games. I'm hardly competitive (though do get incredibly frustrated - you've seen that. :P) at anything, which is sort of why I see myself as a casual gamer. Fake guitar games are somewhat of an exception to this, but I still don't try too hard to win when facing off against someone. If I lose, so be it. I'm not going to demand a rematch, or try to prove my leetness or whatever.

I went ahead and changed my gamer type to something a little more suitable anyway. Wink

It's not too difficult, but you'll definitely want to head over to Scorehero and find a good sp path. It's fairly forgiving if you miss some stuff, but you still need to hold a 4x combo for a majority of the song.

Good luck with it though, just keep practicing and I'm sure you'll get the achievement eventually. Smile
