WOW- Life Stealer
Player Chronicle -- Posted on Mar 31 2008
Last week, all week, I had no school (thank you spring break). I have always wanted to try World of Warcraft out and I thought what better time than spring break? So I asked my friend for a trial disc. I went to a movie on Friday and was at the Bostons March Madness tournament on Saturday (which was very fun btw.) I finally got my character started on Sunday afternoon. When I first started I got really frustrated because my friend wasn't on all the time and I always got myself killed. I thought WOW wasn't the game for me but I gave it a second chance... and it blew me away. As soon as I got to around level 14 my friend said he was running an instance or dungeon with his guild and asked me to join. It was a group of 5 a rogue; (that was me), a hunter (my friend), a tank and two healers. It was a very challenging experience. We were constantly working together and helping each other out. This aspect of teamwork and unity won me over. It gave me confidence and I started liking the game. I played for around 15 hours straight, rest/eat, repeat for the rest of the week. I tried to stop and play xbox or get some exercise but I couldn't. After my trial ran out I canceled my runescape subscription and converted to World of Warcraft. By the time spring break was over I was around level 27. I was kinda glad something ended my mad spree of slaying and looting. If it wasn't for school and sports WOW would have stolen my life . Not to mention the relationships with my friends and family. This is one of the first times I was somewhat happy to see my vacation slip back into the shadows waiting for next year.

Posted On Mar 31 2008Thats the world of warcraft that you play, Yes the game will blow you away, yes it will steal you away, and yes it will rob you of your social life. But if you can keep your dosage just right, it can be the best around. Ive been in your shoes, and now that im lvl 70 the game still hasn't lost any of its wonder.
