1. Demo disc doesn't work?

   I'm a subscriber to OXM magazine. Each month they supply you with a demo disc with all the latest news, vids, and games. (They also have a feature on there called OXM universe. You build a ship using oxm points you get from watching vids and playing demos on the disc. So far not much has happened on it, but the goal is to reach a distant planet.)
   
   Anyways, after I received my new magazine I took out my demo disc but my xbox 360 wouldn't read it. I kept trying but without luck decided to go to the website and order a replacement (You get 3 replacements a year ) On their website some readers suggested to boil it in a small pot of water for 15 seconds and then pat it dry. Most home remedies usually don't work but since it was only a demo disc I said "Why not?"
   
   I boiled the water, stuck the disc in; as I was cringing, thinking "this would be hard to do with a game I care about", and then waited 15 seconds. After it was done "cooking" I dried it and stuck it in the disc tray, and....... TaDa it works! .
   
   I did some further reading and the reason that this works with demo discs is because during processing the disc wasn't cleaned throughly and some residue, even though hard to see, was tricking the xbox's laser into thinking it was unreadable. Boiling it in water removes it.
   
   
   Warning: Do not try this on anything besides the OXM demo discs unless further research is done.
