  1. johnbiz10301 GoGame Review #6- Band Hero

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Nov 22 2009

I haven't finished this yet but I didn't need to to be able to write this review plus I need to get Modern Warfare 2 and NCAA Basketball 10 up. I'm going to start doing some less main stream games for my reviews, but continue to do the main stream ones as well. There could be game that I review that Matrix doesn't even but on the release list but i'm guessing that wont happen to often. As for Assassin's Creed 2 and Left for Dead 2, i'm probably going Friday after Thanksgiving to buy them and try to find them on sale, I heard Target is having a big sale so those will be up by next Wednesday I say if I can find them on sale

This game was painful to play. It's far from the kind of music I usually listen to but I didn't think it would be this bad.

The set list is pretty bad besides the occasional good song here and there but not to often. Theres a lot of pop and softer music then what your used to in a music game. The Guitar Hero series has started getting a little bit softer as we all know, but this takes it to a whole new level. I think the most hardcore song on the game is Lifeline by Papa Roach, what a joke.

The guitar difficulty is, well there is none. The game is super easy. Lifeline is the hardest song and I 5 stared it on my sightread, and that was a bad run. There was one song where my guitar literally turned off twice and I still 5 stared it, that is how easy it is.

The career mode is set up like Guitar Hero 5, which I hate. I don't like how you can only start one career for all four instruments, you also can't see what your scores are on the song or know what instrument you used unless you completed a challenge. Theres 11 venues in the game which isn't to bad, to long for how bad the songs are though.

The graphics are just like Guitar Hero 5. Theres nothing different besides the characters and the venues, the style is exactly the same.

Finally, a bright spot, the vocals actually work for once. I think because of the style of music Activision really focused on making the vocals good in this game. You know how it says you can play any combination of instruments including 4 guitars in Guitar Hero 5? well on Band Hero it says vocalist, just showing how much effort they probably put into finally making the vocals work.

This game is not that good at all. If you really like this kind of music I guess you could buy it but besides that...

I get the sense that this game is somewhat of a teenie-bopper game and I suppose with these music genre games, you have to like the setup list of the game may not be very enjoyable. You should use your single comment for this Chronicle, and post the setlist that is available on this game Wink

Nice review though and keep 'em coming.
