  1. JackDaniels624 Hubble freakin' Bubbles!!!

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Mar 29 2009

Okay only the middle word even hints at what this is about, the others make me think of Bubble Bobble or the Hubble telescope, both are far off!

Okay so as mentioned in my previous chronicle I mentioned I'm aiming to be an even better singer on Rock Band. I'm trying to make it my main instrument because A) I really enjoy it, plus I get to see the lyrics of songs which I usually don't listen too since I prefer the sounds of instruments for. And B) Hardly anyone ever wants to do vocals. Most peeps (no not those little marshmallow birds, although they are quite cute and dangerous, that being a reference to South Park) stick with the good ol' geetar since they've been playing Guitar Hero since GH1, and even more 360 games GH2. The drums are the second most popular since their quite obviously fun! Unfortunately it's hard for me to get in a comfortable position with them since I let my cousin use them, and I move my throne back when I play my real kit. Not to mention a somewhat unresponsive snare...And they take up too much room. Their still quite fun, though I can't main them. Nor use the sticks I'm most comfortable with since the sensors don't pick up as well. Plus it takes up to much room. And finally people don't like the bass as much because of it's repitition, althogh songs like Panic Attack, Constant Motion, and Laid To Rest are extremely fun IIRC. I don't mind taking the bass.

Okay sorry about that lengthy bit now onto the main point. I'm trying to main singing. I got a perfect on Panic Attack on hard, and missed only 2 phrases on expert. So last night I tried going for that perfect.

The results were usually the same, missing the same phrases, but then BAM! I eventually nailed both of them! Then my voice got a bit scratchy and everything went down hill on the easiest of easy parts...

I cleared my throat and kept trying, but something got in their usually around half way through the song or I'd keep missing "I don't know why I'm constantly reeling" and restarted.

I was THIS close to getting my perfect! I don't even use that humming technique that a lot of people use, it's all singing from me! Of course I have to sing in a higher octave since I can't do low parts with my normal singing voice, plus a higher one gives me more control of my pitch making those slight changes much easier.

So basically, the title is one of my creative cusses I made up without any thought, and I just thought I'd let you all know that it is a possibilty, but it will take a while! Also Panic Attack is second to last tier on vocals, but Constant Motion is the second easiest...yet Constant Motion is MUCH harder! It seems that I could probobly accomplish my goals on hard, but expert may take a while longer.

Without singing on a normal basis, I too enjoy the vocal parts to GH and RB, but my stamina is super weak. My throat will be killing me in under 5 songs a lot of the time, especially if I'm really performing it Wink
