  1. JackDaniels624 Initial thoughts on the Mayhem pack for Rock Band (vocals only)

Behemoth's Conquer All-I was never sure if I liked Behemoth for a long time, I couldn't remember if it was them or some other band I didn't like. Anyway I still got the entire pack, and I must say that I did enjoy doing the vocals on this song! That's about all I can say right now...

The Black Dahlia Murder's What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse-TBDM's vocals quickly change from shrills to growl, so this was harder to play by ear...besides I couldn't do shrills to save my life, so I stuck with my traditional growls on this one. I've only heard a bit of them, this song being one of them. And I must say it's always nice to see some bands with a sense of humor! The video's pretty wierd, in a good way, and the song is also pretty good. I may have to listen to a bit more of them!

Cannibal Corpse's Hammer Smashed Face-Personally, I would have chosen a different song, since this is one of the more overplayed ones...luckily for me I haven't listened to them for a while due to my little progressive phase (a lot of Rush, Opeth, and of course Dream Theater cuz the hype of finally getting to meet these guys), Necrophagist, Atheist, and of course Death's greatest CD "Symbolic"...Anyway back on subject, I hadn't heard the song in a while and it was funny cuz I sang...well growled like Nathan Explosion when I did this song. I'm pretty sure Nathan was influenced heavily by George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher, so it kind of made sense, although it was still unintentional.

God Forbid's Empire of the Gun-Well, I'm not into God Forbid as much as I used to. And I would have much rather had "End of the World"...or a few other songs. It's not bad though, I just have a belief that political opinions are like wieners. Don't pull them out unless someone asks first or else it's rape!

Job for a Cowboy's Embedded-My personal favorite of the pack. I've seen these guys live and they can put on a show! The vocalist does these really cool things with his hands that I can't explain, but they were pretty awesome! The bass player looked kinda funny, but still had a good stage presence. The thing is, we pretty much have their entire discography now cuz all their songs sound the same. If they had stopped playing after like, 4 or 5 songs I'd say they were the best of the 5 bands at the Gigantour...Anyway the song is totally awesome and has lots of fun words to belt out! Not to mention I can't wait to try and replicate the drummers hair spin thing sometime...I know I probobly can't do it, but try I will! Also I wonder why "Give it Away" is tiered so much higher on vocals then this...It has some pretty big words that most people won't be able to read as it passes by, yet it doesn't even have a dot...

Marilyn Manson's Disposable Teens-In all honesty I never really gave the guy a chance...although I recently had a catharsis and I'm willing to give anything a chance despite whatever I've said in the past. And it was never about him (I've always found him strange, but very respectable and think he took a lot of unnecessary flak after Columbine...those kids weren't even fans...if I remember correctly they actually disliked his music)...Anyway I never gave his music a chance because of the fans. Although ironically the biggest fan of his I ever met was actually extremely kind and respectful to me. Maybe he could sense my "differentness" from most society by my quietness, cuz as far as I could tell he did not care for "normies" and at the time my hair was short, and nothing else would have given it away. Anyway I didn't mind the song, and I think I'd need to listen a bit deeper to everything before I discover how I feel about the guys music.

Slayer's Black Magic-Heh, despite what most people think Slayer is actually not a satanic band. Tom Araya does in fact believe in an all-loving God, although this song may not exactly reflect that. He says if Kerry (he's against any organized religion of any kind) writes a good song, he'll play it. Although he also said that the lyrics will never contradict his beliefs. Point is, with such opposites as that, Slayers alright by me! This is a pretty cool song and I really enjoyed it!

White Chapel's This Is Exile-This was one of my personal favorites to destroy my vocal chords on! I can definately see myself playing this quite a bit! Maybe someday I'll actually be able to belt out those faster parts!

Overall I'm satisfied with this pack! Sure, I wish their was more and of course some other bands, but the fact remains that this is one of my favorite packs I ever bought! Excuse me while I go and damage my phalanges now on bass! Speaking of bass, what's everyones deal with hating on it? OMG ITS NOT GEETAR!!! Pfft...Personally an isolated bass is probobly my second favorite sounding instrument, but I gotta say a keyboard in the right hands will always reign supreme. I was almost a bass player, but I just thought that drums would be much funner (and easier) to play! Maybe someday though...
