  1. JackDaniels624 I am officially worthy to meet Dream Theater now!

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Jul 21 2009

As you should know, I love Dream Theater. And for those who know of Dream Theater, you should too hehehe...Okay I'll get the boring part out of the way, if you don't like their music, fine, but there is simply no denying their amazing songwriting and technical skills (yes even James who is the one who takes the harshest criticisms is extremely talented!).

Anyway I love Dream Theater, and I love Rock Band 2. I also love vocals, so combine the 3, add some OCD to the mix, someone who experienced and loved a nicotine/monster induced panic attack, and you have me relentlessly trying to FC Panic Attack on Expert vocals.

And of course, as I've already shown on the forums, I did just a few moments ago. In fact I still have it on my TV screen right now! So this goal of mine is finally completed, and exactly one month away from the night I get to meet and greet these 5 musical gods!

Here's the story behind the magic though. I found my email for the 20 free downloadable songs, and just had to play Prequel to the Sequel (Between the Buried and Me are probobly my 3rd favorite prog metal band after Dream Theater and Opeth). Then I kinda felt like I needed to relax a bit. Now I should warn you, I'm sure I have at least somewhat of a reputation for being a metalhead, so this might come as a surprise but I sang No Doubt's Underneath it All (And no it's not a dirty song you jerk! I heard it on the radio at work and Gwen's voice was very relaxing, especially with that reggaish ska drum beat).

Anyway I noticed how well I was changing my pitch to nail higher notes from lower ones, which was where my problem with FCing Panic Attack was...those hard "RUUUUN TRY TO HIIIIDEEE" parts. So with my confidence solidified, I decided to give it a go. And guess what? First try nailed absolutely everything! Including those percussion notes despite my heart starting to race when I thought I could get 100 percent! Honestly, it was almost like the first stage in a panic attack! Then my excitement kicked in when the song was over and it raced even faster! And now I am calm...And worthy to meet Mike Portnoy at last!

    Carpe Diem
