  1. JackDaniels624 Gogcast and Modern Warfare 2

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Jul 25 2009

Okay so as I listened to episode 8 of the second season of the Gogcast, a discussion on Modern Warfare 2 came up...And as I was listening I was seriously screaming in my head! Does ANYONE care about anything besides the multiplayer?

Sure the multiplayer is awesome, and believe me I have tons of great memories of playing with some friends, having a few drinks, and just having a great time trying to look down the sights through whiskey vision...And even better a memory of my neighbor (totally hammered) said he was coming over during the middle of a match, left the game, and no one thought he was serious...Then a few moments later he's knocking on my window! Best CoD memory EVER!

Anyway, I can't help but notice that everyone seems to ignore the fact that CoD4 had an extremely fun campaign! Remember the mission where you got to snipe off that guys arm? Or where you had to protect MacMillian while waiting for a chopper to arrive for evac, sniping hundreds of terrorists who never seem to run short of grenades? Or raiding the Al-Jazeera based TV station? Or controlling the final moments of a US marine? How come no one mentions the guy riding the snowmobile ambushed by an ice pick? That was the highlight of the MW2 E3 coverage in my opinion. Sure the campaign was short, but I truly believe that it was the best CoD campaign, and I'll never forget the feeling of doing a somewhat realistic long range snipe! And how come no ones talking about theories on WTF the Mile High Club mission was about?

So overall, yes the multiplayer is pretty awesome, but there's more to the franchise then just that and Nazi Zombies! I dunno, it just gets a bit annoying being the only one who seems to care about single player and multiplayer aspects of games...

I know I'm severely guilty of this habit. I buy these types of games and don't even start the campaigns! I've being doing this since Halo 2 and just can't help it.

I'm embarrassed to say how many games I own, that I haven't even got through the first level on the campaign Sad

That being said, it's not that I don't think these campaigns aren't awesome...I just think the multiplayer experience is what I crave and until my Internet connection is cut, I'll just keep enjoying the online experience...plus, that's where all my friends are Wink

Nice rant. I didn't talk about the single player because the questions asked of me were in regards to 1. nazi zombies on waw 2. did we think that the cod 4 girls would have an easier time with multiplayer in modern warfare 2 than the cod waw girls (im on cod waw). I love the coverage E3 put up on the demo for the campaign it made me drool. Take a look at the forums I talk about the campaign a little there. Anywho I know what you mean tho. Guess it is because most people just breeze thru campaigns and go for the mutliplayer. I know alot of people that don't even do the campaign's because they feel it will give other players and advantage over you when you finally finish the campaign and make your way over to multiplayer.
