  1. JackDaniels624 What I Forgot

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Aug 27 2009

Alright time to finally continue about the best day ever. I shall start off by saying that Dream Theater fans are probobly the most diverse fans I have ever seen (not racially though). It only took seconds noticing everyone outside walking towards the Orpheum to notice this. It only became more apparent the deeper I got inside! I swear there were people who must have been around 50-60 years old! Not just a few, but a notable amount! One of the guys I was talking to (who actually used to be a roadie for King Diamond!) was 47, and the guy standing next to me had hair as white as snow! Not to mention that a man and his wife (probobly around 53) were both willing to shell out the big bucks for meet and greet passes. So yeah there were quite a few elderly folk, but there was also pleanty of youngun's, some probobly still in elementary school! And seeing as how I mainly only attend metal concerts, it was the second time that women actually had a noticeable population (Paul McCartney still had them beat of course).

Now back to my neophyte mistake. Here is (as Roadkill asked for) the setlist.

    A Nightmare to Remember
    A Rite of Passage
    Prophets of War
The Dance of Eternity/One Last Time
    Solitary Shell (extended version)
    ln the Name of God
    (Encore): The Count of Tuscany

Notice my mistake yet? I said that they didn't play anything off of my 2nd favorite album of all time, Train of Thought. But they played "In The Name of God"! How the **** did I forget that! I bring great shame to my family...Well my excuse is that they also played Prophets of War, which can be somewhat similar lyrically, and for some reason I thought that "In the Name of God" was Sacrificed Sons at the time so I thought it was off of Octavarium...That's no excuse though...

Back onto the cool stuff I forgot! Mike Portnoy shoved a drumstick up his nose, Jordan Rudess has a wizard hat that one of his roadies wore for a tiny bit (that poser...Only Jordan's worthy of that hat). Jordan also has a wierd angry face that he puts on when he headbangs and keeps the timing in his head...it was kind of awkward when he stared in my general direction with that angry headbanging face Laughing . John Petrucci gets on his knees and pretty much prays when he plays emotional guitar parts. James LaBrie hates the letter "s". When he sings longerer words, he changes the pitch by moving his tongue to his roof, thus making the s sound quite hard...

That's all I can think of at the moment...
