  1. Link Animal Crossing: City Folk Review

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Nov 19 2008

    One word. Gamecube.

If you have played the gamecube version of Animal Crossing, then you have essentially played City Folk. It is pretty much the same setup, as far as locations of shops, and other stuff. Really, the only noticeable changes I have seen are the following:

    1) Fishing and Digging, now use wiimote controls.

    2) "Bells", or cash essentially, is much easier to come by. You now have a part time job with Tom Nook - and when you aren't earning your penitence - you can roam the little area of your city, where things magically appear, most of which can be sold for 200-1000 Bells. Most items don't even cost around 500.

    3) Online. Of course, now you can use the expensive add-on Wii Speak to talk with people over W.F.C. W00T!!!! or not.... its kinda buggy, and when multiple people begin joining your town loading times exponentially seem to increase. Oh... and the fireworks suck.

Yeah, The game itself is still good, I cannot lie, but like i mentioned before, If you played the gamecube version, you have essentially played this game. Cheers!

Games that don't advance on the older versions are annoying to me. Even CoD:WaW approaches this category, with it being so similar, but almost taken backwards from CoD4?! I understand the need to release new games for revenue opportunities, but wouldn't it be nice if a new game always meant a NEW GAME?

    Thanks for the warning Link.
