1. First Impressions: Black

   Being the out-of-the-loop casual gamer that I am, writing a game review is really not a typical thing of me. However, being on the GoGcast tonight in place of Link (who is at work), I feel a sudden surge of inspiration to give my thoughts on gaming. And what better game to review than Black?
   
   Now, being a casual gamer, I've only played through the first four levels of this game. That said, I've been absolutely blown away by this game. It's the most hardcore, over the top shooter I've ever played and it gives you the feeling of shooting a gun better than any other game out there.
   
   The graphics of this game are simply astounding. I've got the PS2 version, and I seriously can't distinguish the graphics from some Xbox 360 games. I really have to hand it to Criterion for their work in the graphics department here.
   
   The sound of the game is a real treat as well. The game's original score quite good, but the real showpiece is the sound effect. The gunshots, exposions, and other sounds in the games are so powerful that playing this game with a good headset makes for a mind blowing experience.
   
   However, it's the gameplay that really draws me to this game. While it's not really innovative and chock full of features like Project Snowblind, the combat is just so explosive and fun that anyone playing won't mind.
   
   All in all, this is a really slick package with cinema-grade production values. If you're not too wrapped up in the current generation of games, pick this up in your local bargain bin. It's just awesome.

   Way to jump right in! It was fun having you on the GoGcast show tonight and nice work with the little game review here.
   
   Black was a game I wanted to try, but just never got around to it. I also like that you weren't afraid to review a slightly older game. Good work and keep it up man...
