Why do you play the games you play?

Well I plan on making an article/chronicle a day so everyone can respond. Doing this will help show their appreciation to the games they love and relate to how games make us gamers feel.
Ok So Today I want to ask all of you.....
Why do you play the games you play?
Is it because you can relate to the way the story of the game is or is it because if it wasn't illegal then you would love to play out what is happening in the game in real life.... such as (GTA reference) stealing fast cars, and flying through the streets of L.A.

Posted On Dec 24 2008As BigNeen004 mentioned, I truly appreciate the development work that goes into these video games we play, but I'd say another huge element for me is the fun that video games allow friends and family to share together.
My reasons have changes over the many years of gaming and it would take a Chronicle of my own to explain, but the above points are some of the pillar ideas.
I suppose this means you'll be seeing a related Chronicle for me soon, so thanks for the idea jdh289

I think I play what I play mostly to appreciate the amazing work that goes into games! This goes for any genre, but especially RPG's! Exploring entire worlds created by some of the most unique minds on our planet is an incredible treat! Then on top of that you have the dozens and dozens of weapons, armor, accesroies and spells that all have unique abilities!
Simply mind-boggling!
