...but it's still a great time! haha. I suppose it changes things when you're playing with a bunch of serious Plastic Rockstars, but at last night's GoG Game Night, the game on Xbox Live was Rock Band and let me tell ya, I was missing notes and screeching horrible noises into the microphone all night long!

Most of us know what Rock Band consists of, so I won't go into the mechanics of the game, but here are my thoughts about the game play...coming from a total Rock Band noob...

    Drums
After 1-2 songs, the front part of my shin was killing me, due to the bass drum, haha. I was all over the place with hitting the right notes and although it was fun, I just can't get over the fact that playing this plastic instrument sounds like an Amish country's traffic jam in real life...clip, clop, clip, clop, clip, clop Laughing

    Guitar
Obviously the guitar wasn't too much different from Guitar Hero, so that wasn't too bad to catch on to, but they are different and some of those notes combos really put a strain on the wrist muscles. I mostly let the serious players like RyuBlitz and Dynafire take care of the guitar Wink

    Microphone
Lastly, and my favorite part, would have to be the singing part. I like how you can add your own flavor to the song and make sure everyone online hears your work as well. I'm sure the guys we were playing with weren't huge fans of my sweet singing skills, but it was a lot of fun and enough to make my throat hurt for sure! The tambourine aspect is a cool idea, but my noob-ness really shined when I was trying to make noises at the times I should have been tapping the microphone itself.

Naturally, GoG Game Night was a lot of fun and I can totally see why people enjoy Rock Band so much. I'll probably still to my FPS and sports games, but I'm always down for a rocking-out session, so hit me up if you want to have an amazing lead singer in your virtual band...

Dang...I was gone when you were singing, although the only instrument I had that night was the mic...If you ever wanna play again I can play guitar/bass on expert...the catch is you won't be able to hear my boo-tee-full singing voice...unless theres backup vocals...

That really was a fun time last night. Thanks for taking the vocals for most of the night - I am possibly the worst singer in the history of the game. (whatever happened to the video you took at the July get-together? :lolSmile

Even if this game doesn't quite work as game night material, we should figure out a time where we can rock out together, and form a GoG band or something. (maybe bi-weekly if possible. Let me know what you think!)
