  1. MaTrIx My Life...Over The Last Year.

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Nov 09 2009

I am not sure how long it will take me to write this. At the moment I am listening to Soundgarden and generally just relaxing. Anyway, off we go on a journey.

The proverbial sh** hit the fan last year around October. The company that bought the casinos where I work got layoff happy. First all the high up people were gotten rid of. The next round of layoff that happened just had to have my old boss in it. The man was a mentor to me, taught me just about everything I know. This left another backstabbing, twofaced supervisor who is still there in charge for a month. The new person that was brought in as manager (my old boss was told his position wasn't needed) was from a little 8 pump gas station in Pahrump, Nevada. The place I work has more business there in a day than the other little gas station does in a week. Anyway, the backstabbing supervisor immediately started talking smack about me. First thing, I was not to be in the office at all anymore. Second, I was taken out of the office computer, can't do orders (which I ALWAYS did), no email access which means that I had no idea what was going on. Third, another supervisor and myself are the only people this new guy screws with for the next year, btw, I've been with the company for 15 years.

At the moment this person, who I will call DS which stands for, well you know, has about a month before his contract is up with this company. Believe me, everyone is hoping that he leaves. I'm sure I am the one that wants him to leave the most. The backstabber? I could care less about her. Sooner or later she'll get whats coming to her. I just hope I'm here to see her get what she deserves. With that being said I'm sure everyone probably knows my family and I are saving money to move to Kentucky. I can't wait to get out of here, but I would love to see these two people get theirs. As an example, DS gave me a write up because another gas station we have to check on lost power, nothing was working. He went home at 12pm, gas station went down at 12:20pm. Another supervisor and myself got the write up even though I was on graveyard at the time and it just myself and one other person that night so I couldn't check on it. Plus DS went home early on a BUSY Friday. To this day I still suspect foul play.

Life has gotten better though. DS has a new boss (Sam)! He actually kind of reminds me of Rusty (my old boss). From the way DS has been acting I think that he has been put in his place a couple of times. Every since Sam has started DS and the backstabber has been walking on pins and needles...they're afraid of something...I wonder what...or who? I'm sure JD will think I'm a turncoat but swing shift is great so far. I hardly ever have to see DS, that in and of itself is a great thing.

Last week a co-worker was fired, apparently she was stealing. I think it was because of this co-worker that I made it through this last year. We just clicked from the first day she started working there. We helped each other along. She doesn't know it but I am indebted to her.

Which brings me to the GoG. Just as games have always been, this place is my escape, my sanctuary, my refuge. Ben, thank you for letting me do the upcoming releases. Sometimes at night after being pissed off at work I would come home and do the updates. By the time I was done everything was gone. If I could get paid to work solely on this site...I would drop everything in a heartbeat...lol. JD, thank you for the jokes, the conversation and the actual idea for the upcoming releases...lol. Ryan, yeah, you have jokes too...lol. Mostly though for your love of Assassin's Creed. Mrs. Violence, well without her myspace bulletin, I wouldn't have joined! I'm indebted to everyone here. Everyone has made life seemingly easier since I have joined, brought a little color back into my world. For that I am grateful.

Wow, sounds like you had the bosses fro hell, dude. But Kudos to you for how you handled yourself through the conflicts. And thank YOU for being a staple in the community here.

I too enjoyed this read. Not because life is tough right now, but that you're able to use this community as a place of fun, relaxation, and refuge.

Your activity (along with everyone else) is what makes this place so unique, so throughout any tough times in your life, know the GoG is always a place to enjoy yourself and talk video games!

Also, when we start hiring full time staff, I'll have you on the list Wink Keep up the good work with the New Releases, as I know everyone really appreciates your great work there!

Aye, I've got your back fellow GoGMate! I too had a pretty crappy year, but it's good to see you took the black clouds and silver lining approach as I have! Keep up the great work man! Also I figured you were running low, so I got you a gift *hands you a crate full of smokebombs*
