Player Chronicle -- Posted on May 04 2010

Saturday, May 1st, 2010. This was the day that I attended Gamers for Giving in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Now most of you know, Ben (Our GoG Father) sponsored the event and helped out so I pretty much followed behind him all day due to my lack of social skills. But let me tell you, this day was a blast.

I got there around Noon-thirty and kind of just walked around, tried to check out what the hell was happeneing. The volunteers had setup I think it was 40 game stations? 16 for call of duty and 24 for Halo. They also had a table setup for Goldeneye 007, Toy Soldiers, Smash Bros, and Street Fighter. I actually ended up playing street fighter and lost instantly to a guy playing blanka who only used a his super moves and crouch-backed the whole time until you moved then he'd fly at your face, I could barely get one hit on him, I wasn't angry at all ("FUCKING BLANKA" *walk away*).

The competition was a lot of fun to watch, I didn't know any of the teams but I found myself rooting for one team or another, the team I was favoring got 2nd place, so that's pretty awesome. The Final halo game got pretty heated and EVERYONE was watching. I was talking to Ben the whole time, or rather he was talking to me and I just said "yeah" a lot. Sorry Ben, i'm not a huge talker! Anyone have any tips on talking to humans in person? thanks!

After hours I kinda stood around and waited for Ben and we ended up going to a liquor store and buying alcohol but everyone was too tired so Ben and I just drank a little bit together and hung out with a lot of the volunteers.

All in all it was a great experience and I'm pretty excited to find out what's going to happen for the future of this charity event.

Congrats to the Founders and volunteers for such an amazing event and to the Teams that won! I'm looking forward to next year!

Sounds like a good time! I would have loved to play Goldeneye 007. I still think that game should be on the DS.

Btw, talking to humans in person is obsolete. Wink lolz
