Player Chronicle -- Posted on Aug 20 2011

Ive been a member here for a very long time now (for about 4 or 5 years!!) and I've been realizing that no one is ever on here anymore besides a select few!! I can remember when there was about 400 members on here and there would be around 20 active users online every time I logged in! Im just curious as to why no one is ever on here anymore! Now I know that I took a verrry long break from being on here due to the hustle and bustle of the Senior year in high school but im not gonna lie I always was thinking of the GOG and tried my best to sign on whenever I could! Id really hate to see this site become abandoned and not used anymore, there is just too many great memories that I've shared with longtime members of the GOG such as the Wednesday night GOG game nights on halo 3, me receiving GOG fliers from BEN and then sweet talking 3 out of the 4 local gamestops to tape them to the checkout counter!, or even when KSI basically ruled the GOG! haha but anyway I'd be willing to help out with anything that would bring back the "high energy" if you will, that the GOG had a little while ago!!

Basically this chronicle expresses my love for the GOG and I just want to see it booming again!!!

Agree 100% But when comments and replies are slow you just end up checking the forums less and less often. But this is still my go-to gaming site and i never leave for long. I just hope it's re-discovered soon. Smile

If we had LIKE buttons like Facebook, I would have clicked it for this, haha.

I know what you mean though, Wes. This video game community has had quite the roller coaster ride over the past 4 years. Did you know August is GoG's 4th birthday!

Anyways, I honestly think people still believe in the uniqueness and actual personality of so many GoG members here. I really think it's time this place got revamped however. Social media has really changed the social networking landscape since 2007 and unfortunately, we've been unable to really stay ahead of the ever-changing curve.

That being said, I still love this website and visit the GoG daily. I think forum activity, profile photos/Chronicles, and more inbound links from other websites would be an easy way to keep conversations flowing while we wait for the next big thing around here. I also envision an online tournament tools becoming a more integrated part of this community someday as well.

It is time to mix things up, but I've said that before. Time/Money are hard to come by for this project by myself...maybe it's time to look for some new partners to help revive this sleeping giant?
