Player Chronicle -- Posted on Apr 05 2008
i for one love thrift stores and am not afraid to say so ^_^.. and today just happened to kick major butt!
we found an open but brand new copy of the orange box on pc for only 5.00, mini halo 3 clix toys for a 1.00, resident evil shirt, spinter cell shirt, goomba shirt, all for 1.99 a piece.. a working nintendo and a working super nintendo with 2 controllers and 1 game for 6.00!! so basically for under 20.00 we got a brand new video game, 3 new video game shirts, and 2 old school systems
so for u guys who hate thrift stores and dont ever venture in them.. think twice before passing one up next time!

Posted On Apr 07 2008I (being "poor") never buy new stuff; unless it's "the latest console" or PC upgrade.
Best finds I've had (console wise), is a NES with 2 controllers for around 4-5$ and a Genesis with controllers at the same price.
But the one that really got me excited was: Nintendo Zapper for less than 3$ DuckHunt is as great as ever (and the only game my mom likes to play ^^) -

My husband found a working Sega Genesis yesterday at a Goodwill store. We also got a few of those little Halo things. -

Posted On Apr 05 2008Those are indeed some impressive finds. Thrift stores can sometimes have some amazing things they don't even know about. As much as I hate to admit I do this, another good way to find some of that stuff is to go to garage sales. Last summer I picked up a pristine SNES with a bunch of good titles (Mario Kart, Super Mario World, Zelda, MK3, Rock n Roll Racing, etc) all for $15. There were a few other things I picked up, but that was the best find. Also, don't be afraid to haggle.

Posted On Apr 05 2008Awesome finds! I don't have time to shop in "regular" stores let alone for bargain hunting. I know there are some really good deals out there, and this chronicle is living proof. Congratulations on your haul. That'll be tough to top.
