  1. Ironman Post MLG Orlando 2010

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Apr 20 2010

This weekend i attended Orlando 2010 with the team Dark Matter for Halo 3. I coached Minority, Sheek, Rowan, and pitbull.

When we all got to the venue they warmed up till 5pm and we had to wait till 7pm to play b/c we had such a high seed that we got 3 byes in total. So we play my former teammates team and lose game 1.

Expected, seeing as they are all warmed up and we hadn't played in 2 hours. Game 2 begins, Narrows Flag. Neither team scores and when there's 3 minutes left 2 random people join. We stop and look around for the ref but he's no where to be seen. While we aren't playing they kill us, get the power weapons and score a flag cap on us. We can't come back from it and are knocked into the Losers bracket.

    We are pissed.

Saturday morning we expect to play Florida Jackalopes, but notice they haven't showed up for their match and they end up forfeiting to a random team we wrecked in the warm ups. We easily make it out into the top 32.

Our first match in the championship bracket we play Yellow Dragons, the 2nd place finishers in the Nashville combine. Sadly, we get beat 3-1 on the Old Spice Feature Station.

After the match, my old friend Adrenaline approaches me and ask "can you coach us"? Right away I say yes and our first match is against the #1 Canadian team, North of 49. We get beat the first two games but make a solid come back and end up knocking them out of the tournament!

Next match is against the pro team Chilled Reality. cR consist of Callmegod, Gilkey, Thuggish killa, and Elumnite. We get them to game 5 on Construct Slayer. They're up 47-43 on us, they have map control, and new rockets are about to be up. Fugo grabs snipe, goes gold 2, snipes Gilkey in the face while hes grabbing rockets, and Thuggish ends up grabbing them and goes into open lobby.

Watch grabs camo, goes up into sword, and sticks Thuggish as he misses a rocket and hits one of his teammates. As you can tell, the ending of the match was so hectic I don't know what really happened, haha. We lose 50-47.

It's sad to think we were 3 kills away from playing Str8 Rippin on Main Stage Shocked

The next morning I overslept, so my team was without a coach against the Yellow Dragons. They ended up losing.

Later I coached them against the pro team Relapse and once again, Game 5 we were down 46-40 and end up winning 50-47.

From there we went on to beat Crowd Pleasers and finish MLG Orlando 2010 with an 18th place finish.

Hopefully I coach vS at MLG Columbus 2010 and we get Top 16 or even Top 8!
    Cya next time GoG!

Well even though you just missed Main Stage, it sounds like you had a bunch of exciting victories and I'm sure good times was had by all. Getting to coach two teams was probably pretty neat too, so thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
