  1. RyuBlitz Come see the Iowa School of Rock!

    Player Chronicle -- Posted on Mar 31 2008

    As some of you may know, I have been participating in the Iowa School of Rock this semester. We are having our concert this Saturday. This program has been an amazing experience for me, and it would if awesome if some of you Iowa locals could make it out to the show. Here are some more details (from our press release):

    ==============================

    We Will Rock You!

    The Students and Faculty of the Iowa School of Rock will rock you at our upcoming concert this Saturday, Apr. 5, 2008 at 7 p.m. The Ames City Auditorium at 515 Clark Ave. in Ames will vibrate with the strains of many rock classics, contemporary and alternative, such as: Under Pressure by Queen, Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams, and False Pretense by the Red Jump Suit Apparatus, and much, much, more. The concert is a full rock production with light show and special effects.

    The 31 Rockers range in age from nine years old to adult and make up six bands. They hail from central Iowa communities of Ames, Boone, Gilbert, State Center, and the greater Des Moines area. After attending eight weeks of practices and band classes, they have learned to play as a team collaborating on the music including original songs, parts, and solos, and designing vocal parts. Bands help select their own music, name their band, design their logo, and promote their show.

    We recommend that you get your tickets in advance at the Ames Community Center at 515 Clark Ave. in Ames. Tickets are $8 each with general admission.

    ==============================

    If you have any questions about the concert, or if you want info for participating in something like this, just drop me a note, and I'd be glad to help.

    -Zach
