  1. ZMaine How I learned to play Guitar Hero.

Player Chronicle -- Posted on Mar 04 2008

Hey if Dynafire can make a post about this, then dammit! So can I!

It all started about..... I don't remember when, when I saw the first Guitar Hero being played at Best Buy. I picked up the guitar and chose Iron Man, after not hitting any of the notes, I *gently* put the guitar down and deemed it retarded and never wanted to play it again. Then I saw it at wal-mart later some time and decided to try it again. After watching someone play it, I finally understood how it worked (so simple yet I couldn't comprehend it). So basically everytime I went to wal-mart, I played GH for about 15 minutes. Then GH2 came out. Then I started going to wal-mart more often and staying there longer (I think the longest I stood there and played was 2 hours, it was like 11:00 and it was dead so no one else wanted to play) At this time I was pretty good on medium and thought very highly of myself, until I watched someone play expert very well (looking back at it now it was awful) and decided I'll never get that good. So I took a break because that kid discouraged me from playing, but of course knowing me I got back into it and kept playing. And before I knew it, I started playing on hard, I was so proud of myself. Then I actually bought a PS2 (yes, I know I bought one really late) and borrowed it from my friend. I didn't give it back because he never plays it anyway. So I played constantly and took part in a tournament held at the school. I signed up for the Hard/Expert difficulty and thought I was doing good but looking back it was awful. They eventually switched the songs from hard to expert and I was freaking out because I never played expert before. I was extremely suprised that I beat 6 out of the 8 other players in this category and ended up getting 3rd place overall. Not bad for never playing expert huh? After that I just played expert and when I finally beat Freebird, I discovered Scorehero and thought it was a wonderful idea. It gave me new goals to fine tune how I played. And before I knew it, I was no longer just another crappy expert player, I can actually hold my own against Dynafire (sometimes).

So there you have it, My chronical of how I learned to play GH, in chronological order. (no pun intended)

Lrn2paragraphnub Wink Nice chronicle - It's always interesting to see how people find their way to this fantastic game. And remember - you'll always kill me at Minus Celsius.
