Player Chronicle -- Posted on Apr 01 2008

If your a avid gamer its needless to say that you've played a fighting game before, or watched someone else play a fighting game. But these games come in two kinds, 2D which was used mainly back before 3D was worked out yet and then theres 3D which is the most common in todays day and age. There still are 2D games floating around nowadys (mostly capcom games) but they're out there. I for one am all for keeping the games 2D for that classic arcade sense. But how does everyone else feel about the topic? Is 2D still a fun format, or just a excuse for developers to cut corners?

I'm not too big into the fighting games, but it seems like the 2d ones are easier to pick up and play without needing to know every button combo.

I don't see 2d fighting games ever going away, especially with gamers like you who really enjoy them Very Happy

i honestly think they keep it 2d because of the arcade and classic sense. like personally i love my street fighter games, and i honestly dont wanna play the 3d version at all. it just isnt right. :/.
