   Daniel Craig may well be the Steve McQueen of our age, but there's a reason Connery got the role of Bond and not McQueen. He fit the role better.
   
   Now, when Casino Royale was on its way, I was expecting a little more loyalty to Fleming. I thought we were going to see the prequel, a return to early Cold War Bond, and instead what we got was modern day hash up and a whole new 007 series. And it just didn't sit well with me. It's actually hard to put into words just what I felt. Betrayed comes to mind, dismayed is there too, I mean they took the smart ass, devil may care, playboy secret agent we've all come to know and love and did the same thing Ubisoft did to the Prince of Persia in Warrior Within - they turned him into an emo prick with a stick up his ass. Not cool.
   
   Not that there's anything wrong with Craig, he's a great actor, I loved him in Layer Cake. And there wasn't anything inherently wrong with the movie from the perspective of an espionage fan. But through the eyes of a Bond fan, Craig, Daniel Craig just ain't James!
   
   Of course, I'll probably see Quantum Solace, it looks good, such as it is. But as far as I'm concerned MGM/Columbia did the unthinkable... they killed the man with the license to kill.

   Very nice reference to the Prince of Persia series. That was one of my favorite games, until I tried to play the follow-up titles!?
   
   I wasn't aware this new Bond movie was on its way, so thanks for the early head's up for sure and nice start to your Chronicles.
