  1. BIGMercenary GAH! Failure....

    SO I decided to go with my other sermon that I had prepared. I was horrible.

    At one point during the music some guys cousin came around to the church and wanted to start something with him. Half of the youth walked outside and we just stopped singing. One of the older youth got onto them about it because it was utterly stupid. One of the adults talked next and then another.

    By the time I was able to speak it was 7:45 and I had 15 minutes left. I went up there and failed. I kept stuttering and forgetting everything. I could barely make eye contact with anyone and I had so many quiet moments... it was just bad.

    Some people said I did good but I know how bad I really was. Maybe I should have gone with the Hadoken. I would have been quick and right to the point.

    Ever have one of those moments where you want to walk off by yourself and slap the crap out of yourself. Tonight was my night.

    Hey BigM, I know exactly how you felt! I've had the opportunity to do some preaching, what an incredible Blessing that is! I've also finished feeling as though I bombed at communicating what I felt God had inspired me to.

    It took a long time, but somewhere in my near daily study of God's Word, I began to realize that even when I feel as though I've bombed, I know His Word is perfect and true and He says

    Isaiah 55:11 NIV

    "my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. "

    Don't get caught up in your feelings I think is what I learned and believe to be true. Our Lord will do as He intends, and I praise God you are among those willing to take risks and serve boldy BigM.
