About 1:50 last night I got a call from my mom telling me my grandmother just died. I ran across the street to wake up my uncles. My drunk uncle was outside already awake. The one from Oregon came into town about 6 PM yesterday. He called his wife and gave her the news. We tried to wake up my other uncle that lives next door but he was in his cave.

Me and my dad went ahead and went to the hospice and we pulled up the same time as my Oregon uncle. He got lost.

We went in but I stayed out of the room, I just couldn't go in. My cave uncle arrived a few minutes later with my cousin from Alabama and his wife.

My mom, Oregon, and cave uncles spoke with a woman from the mortuary and got things underway.

Around 4 we all leave. Me and my brother went with Oregon and go turned around a few times even though we knew where we were going. We got home at about 4:30 and I feel asleep around 5.

I skipped church this morning and people understood. They were able to handle me being gone which assured me I can at least take a sick day if I ever need to.

We went to the funeral home and my relatives saw my grandmother but I stayed out of the room again. Around 4 we went out to eat.

I got dropped off at church, came home and now is now.

Rough weekend but inevitable. I just wish people would stop asking me how I feel. I'm fine. The tears might come later, but now right now.

My mom and uncles are across the street talking about what to do with the house, the uncle who lived with my grandmother, and her things. I'll let you all know what happens although I'm sure that's VERY interesting to you all.

I'm sorry for your loss; It's never easy to lose someone close to you. If there is anything to take comfort in, it is the fact that she no longer has to suffer with her cancer.
